Signs and Simpsons

I kid you not, even the latest episode of the Simpsons is a sign. Honestly, I very very rarely watch the show. Just wanted something to watch while I ate and cleaned the kitchen. In the episode, Bart goes to a 4H camp where he has to raise a scrawny calf. He bonds with the calf, feeds it wheat grass, makes sure it exercises, and it wins first prize in the auction. To his chagrin, the calf is to go to the slaughterhouse. Lisa and Bart vow to save it. Upon their arrival, they find the calf about 3 times the size it was when they left it, thanks to growth hormones. Long story shot- they find a safe place for the calf. It's taken to India of course!

From my experiences abroad about 5 years ago, I sort of got the sense that the French and Italians thought vegetarians were crazy. Why would they give up meat!? It's understandable that they had that view point since as far as I know, their meat isn't super massed produced in shady conditions.
